  • Popular surfing beach at the end of Malibu city limits. It’s a great place to hang out for the day. It’s also a great dog-friendly beach. If you're out here for the day, you can run across the street and stop at Neptunes Net. It’s popular for motorcycles and people traveling PCH for a place to sit outside and have some fish tacos and look out at the ocean.

  • Probably the most photographed beach in Malibu. Chances are you have seen it looking for top places to see in Malibu, Winter sunsets are particularly beautiful here. The parking lot can get filled quickly so many people have to park on PCH and walk. It’s usually best to get an early start here.

  • For those a little more adventurous there is a short hike down to La Piedra Beach. It has beautiful overlooks and can be mostly secluded. Think twice about a cooler with wheels as there are a few steps that are a bit steep to climb down. It's really beautiful

  • Hidden Gem… Lechuza Beach is a wonderful cove beach area just south of the famous El Matador. It has a really pretty walk down a covered staircase that reminds you of a Chinese garden before you pop out to a great beach. It’s a walk up and downstairs, so elderly people should be mindful.

  • My personal favorite beach. Famous for its right-hand picturesque point break for surfing, it’s also a great place for families. There is parking, restrooms, hiking trails on the mountainside, beautiful cove areas, light walking trails, and the northern side is dog-friendly as long as they are leashed.

  • Beautiful views, and a huge beach, and a great left hand point break during summer swells. If you're looking for privacy, this is a great spot. For sunsets, we loved a little mini picnic in the table areas just at the lookout.

  • It's hard not to include Malibu’s 1st point and Malibu State Park on our list. Chances are you already know of it. It tends to be one of the most popular bc of its proximity to one of the best right-hand point breaks in CA, amazing restaurants like Malibu Farm, Walking distance to cross creek shopping center, and Malibu lagoon.

  • Sycamore is just out of town, but I think it’s a great destination bc traveling there you'll start seeing the beautiful curvy coastline. Sycamore is a state park. It has a vast network of hiking and mountain biking trails. The beach is incredibly picturesque and there are areas for bbq here. It’s worth spending a day. I would even tell you to continue on just a little further to Point Magu Rock. See if you can find some more hidden beach’s, if not, enjoy some of the best of PCH just north of Malibu.

  • One of my favorites. Westward Beach stretches westward from the Point Dume preserve towards Zuma. Most people don't tend to realize you can drive all the way to the end where there is a big parking lot and access to hiking up towards the Preserve. There are also bathrooms and it is very close to the sunset restaurant which has a fantastic happy hour.

  • Welcome to Zuma Beach. Zuma beach is probably the most easily accessible beach in Malibu. Zuma is the big stretch of beach sandwiched between Westward and Broad Beach. It has concessions, bathrooms, and parking. It’s easily accessible for all types. During the best summer swells, can offer impressive barreling shore break for experienced surfers.
